KLM Images has published a second Old Dominion Hounds photo essay today, our cubbing meet at the Hunter Trial Field earlier this season.  Lots of scenting excitement and some lovely scenery.

Virginia Hunt Week at ODH – Tuesday 10/18

The Masters have asked me to help them organize a tailgate breakfast for Tuesday, October 18, at Poe’s Run (Julia Thieriot’s place).  ODH will be hosting the riders in the Virginia Hunt Week that day. The Masters will provide the drinks and burgers and hot dogs, etc.   So, we need side dishes (salads, etc.) and desserts.   If you are planning to hunt that day and/or can bring one of these items, please call or email me so that we can organize this accordingly.  We also need a volunteer to cook the burgers and dogs.  We are expecting 20 or more guests plus our normal week day crowd…in other words 40-50 hunters.

Photos: Cub Hunting at Hunter’s Rest (9/24/2011)

KLM Images has just published a little essay from last Saturday’s cubbing.

We got together on a dark and wet morning to stir up foxes and educate some youngsters.  From the perspective of the car followers, most of the action was audio rather than video and I, for one, had to abandon the hunt as they headed over the river and through the woods.  Happily, I later met the hound truck on its way back and was able to catch the pack on its way back into kennels, where the hounds were anything but pleased to be disturbed by unexpected visitors.

You can find the essay here: http://www.klmimages.com/odh_20112_2

Weekend Hunt Breakfasts

The new hunting season is upon us, let’s begin in style…

Bring your favorite dish(es) to share to the first two meets, Saturday and Monday, for some after-hunt socializing and fun.  You bring the food and we’ll bring the drinks.  That will give us time to get the teams organized for future hunts.

Thanks…and don’t forget the ODH tailgate at the Warrenton Horse Show.
